Die Eroberung von Lüttich vom 4. bis zum 7. August 1914 war die erste grössere Angriffsoperation von strategischer Bedeutung, die deutsche Streitkräfte während des Ersten Weltkrieges ausführten. Die rasche Besetzung des wichtigen belgischen Strassen- und Eisenbahnknotenpunkts Lüttich war als Handstreich geplant und sollte der Hauptmasse der deutschen 1. und 2. Armee den Weg auf das westliche Ufer der Maas öffnen. (wp)
