Black Sea Grain Agreement
The world's most important grain producer is Ukraine. According to the World Food Programme, almost 400 million people worldwide are fed with Ukrainian grain. The supplies are of the greatest importance worldwide and at the same time play a crucial role for the Ukrainian economy. On 22 July 2022, an agreement was concluded between Russia and Ukraine. The agreement regulates the controlled export of Ukrainian grain. Cargo ships start in the Black Sea ports of Odessa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyj and navigate along a defined sea corridor towards Istanbul. According to Russia, the agreement is not to be extended. This would have a serious impact on the food supply for millions of people. (bewe / autotranslated)
