DEUTSCHLAND LITERATUR EPHRAIM KISHON
A photograph showing Hungarian born, Jewish author Ephraim Kishon presenting his new satirical book ''Eintagsfliegen Leben Laenger'' (Mayflies Live Longer) Sunday 14 October 2001 at the 53rd international book fair in Frankfurt. Israeli author Ephraim Kishon died Saturday 29 January 2005, in Switzerland at age 80, Israeli media reported. He suffered a heart attack. His body was to be flown Sunday to Israel for burial in Tel Aviv. Kishon was born on August 23, 1924 in Budapest as Ferenc Hoffmann.
