SCHWEIZ UNO "ATOMS FOR PEACE" 1955
Swiss workmen are transporting a scale model of the Babcock and Wilcox Nuclear Steam Generator to the Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on August 2, 1955. It will be on display to scientists from 72 nations who will gather in Geneva for the Atoms for Peace conference to start on August 8, and continue through to August 20. The conference is sponsored by the United Nations as part of President Eisenhower's atoms-for-peace program. The model generator is the scaled-down version of the type that consolidated Edison Company, of New York, will setup for their 250,000 K.W. nuclear steam electric plant at Indian Point, New York.
