Jews of Rome, Italy, celebrate under the arche of Titus in the forum romanum, December 2 1947, the United Nations General Assemblys' decision to partition Palestine into seperate Arab and Jewish states. The arch was erected in the year 81 A. D. honouring the sacking of Jerusalem by Roman Empire forces in the year 70 A. D. It has since become, to the Jews, a symbol of their history.
