BRAZIL OCEANS GLOBAL WARMING RESAERCH
epa03236790 A Photo made available on 26 May 2012, shows a coral at Marine Mesocosm, an intermediary laboratory between an aquarium and an experiment in natural conditions built by the NGO Coral Vivo, in Arraial d'Ajuda beaches, in front an important coral reef in Bahia, northeast Brazil, on 22 May 2012. At the Marine Mesocosm, Brazilian scientists made an unprecedented experiment that concluded that global warming is a serious threat to the survival of corals, organisms of great importance to marine biodiversity, noting that the bleaching and death of corals around the world in recent years may have been caused exclusively by the increased temperature of the oceans.
