Lucerne Festival by Peter Fischli
This summer 75 years ago, on August 25, 1938, Arturo Toscanini conducted an orchestra assembled for him in the gardens facing the Richard Wagner Museum in Tribschen near Lucerne, Switzerland. This legendary concert is considered to be the birth of the international music weeks, which are called Lucerne Festival since 2001. Photographer Peter Fischli accompanies the annual event since 25 years. In the lightbox, we have compiled a selection of his images of the renowned festival of classical music from 1988 to 1995.
