SCHWEIZ WINTER "FETE DU FROID" LA BREVINE
Peoples swim in the icy waters in the frozen "Lac des Tailleres" lake (1040 meters above sea level), temperature of water is one degree Celsius above zero, during the Cold Festival (Fete du Froid) on the Jura mountain massif in La Brevine, Saturday, February 1, 2020. The valley of la Brevine is known for its coldness and is often referred to as the Siberia of Switzerland. The record temperature is minus 41.8 degrees Celsius. The inhabitants of the region are used to the icy temperatures and celebrate the winter every year with a cold festival.
