The Ministry of Justice opened a round of entrance exams for 600 defense lawyers in Kabul. A bill addressing the legal issues faced by citizens is in the process of being drafted by the Taliban supreme leader and head of the Islamic Emirate, Malahabatullah Akhundzada. The Ministry of Justice has granted licenses to 1,300 male lawyers in order to provide support and facilities for citizens in all provinces. The exam, however, was not open to women. Roza Otunbayeva, Director of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, UNAMA said we want the Islamic Emirate to extend the licenses of female advocates in addition to male advocates.
