ARM ARTERIES
Arm arteries. Historical illustration of the arteries and muscles of the arm and hand. The arteries are coloured red to show that they supply oxygenated blood. Some of the muscles have been removed from the arm at right, to show the deep- seated arteries. A smaller diagram (upper centre) shows the elbow arteries. Colour lithograph by Fairland from The Vessels of the Human Body, 1837. Based on drawings by J. Swandale. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/SHEILA TERRY)
