- Palm groves and cropland on Peninsular Malaysia 1990 - Agriculture on the Malaysian peninsula benefits from the fact that it is largely spared droughts and hurricanes - an advantage especially for their groves of palm oil, rubber and cocoa trees, which provide Malaysia¿s most important exports. The peninsula also produces basic foodstuffs for the whole country; the rice cultivation there, however cannot quite cover their own requirements.
