Isaiah Perry, 64, chairman of the church council, Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, United States, pictured on March 22, 2013. The church was founded in 1873 as "First Colored Baptist Church of Birmingham". In the 1960s the church served as headquarters and meeting place for the Civil Rights Movement. In 1963 the so-called "Sixteenth Street Baptist Church Bombing" took place. This lead to the death of four African American girls and created a new dynamic in the civil rights movement. The church has been a National Historic Landmark since 2006. The official slogan of the church is "Where Jesus Christ is the Main Attraction". But, above all, the building is a museum where several tours for school classes from all over America take place every day. Isaiah Perry is one of the tour guides and also oversees the exhibition weekly.
