VIA PANAM, MIGRATION IN THE AMERICA'S, EL SALVADOR
Ana Julia Torces (74) is from Itipuca, El Salvador and has two children. In 1976 she left for Los Angeles, she went with her daughter who was 11 years at that time, her son stayed with her father, who died two years later. Ana has five brothers and sisters of which three live in the US. .Ana left for personal reasons to the US and became a elderly caregiver. She believes that when she went to the US there was a future for Salvadorians if you were prepared to work hard. Now she thinks people should stay in El Salvador; the money they spend on the trip going to the US could build them a live in El Salvador..Ana still comes regularly to Itipuca; the family house is still there.
