VIA PANAM, MIGRATION IN THE AMERICA'S
A Kawaskar at home in Puerto Eden...Puerto Eden is one of the most remote (and wettest) towns in the southern hemisphere. It can only be reached by boat and the nearest town is about 500 kilometers away. The town has a population of 180 people, of which nine are Kawaskar. The Kawaskar are the original Indigenous people of the region. There are no descendants in Puerto Eden, so it will be the last generation. .The government of Chile is considering to 'close' Puerto Eden, because it is too expensive too maintain the town.
