INDIEN LANDWIRTSCHAFT GETREIDE
epa03204917 An Indian laborer carries tea during a break from work as he walks amid gunny bags full of wheat grains at a grain market in the northern city of Amritsar, India, 03 May 2012. The harvesting of the wheat has been delayed due to the unexpected scattered rain showers, which has also resulted in loss of production. The planting of the wheat crop begins around the month of October every year and runs through the end of December, in the state of Punjab. Wheat usually begins to head in January, with harvest following from March till May. According to a statistical data, the harvesting season in Punjab had procured more than 9.17 million tons of wheat till 01 May 2012. EPA/RAMINDER PAL SINGH
