BONNET MACAQUES AND YOUNG
Bonnet macaques (Macaca radiata) and young. Female bonnet macaques with their young. This monkey is so-named because of the bonnet-shaped patch of hair on its head. It reaches a body length of between 35 and 60 centimetres. It eats ripe fruits, leaves and insects, and lives in groups in evergreen and deciduous forests. Photographed amongst the ruins of the city of Vijayanagara, India. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/PAUL WILLIAMS/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY)
