NADA ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT
MODEL RELEASED. NADA acupuncture treatment. Acupuncturist placing a set of five needles in a patient's ear using the NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) technique. This is a form of auricular acupuncture, with five needles placed in acupuncture points in the ear. Developed from the mid-1970s, the NADA protocol was developed in the 1980s and the final form involved five acupuncture points: Sympathetic, Shen Men, Kidney, Liver, and Lung. Modern Western medicine explains the pain-relieving effects of acupuncture as stimulation by the needles causing the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.
