Nippon Budokan is illuminated after the extension and renovation for the Tokyo Olympics were completed in July in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo on September 29, 2020. The Budokan will be the venue for judo and karate for the Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed to next summer. Nippon BudÅkan was originally built for the judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, hence its name, which translates in English as Martial Arts Hall. 163 LED lights were installed on the outer surface, and the world's first golden LED was used near the center of the roof. The electric bill is about 90 yen (about $0.86) per hour.ãÄÄA number of famous music concerts have played at Budokan such as The Beatles, ABBA, Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, John Hiatt, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple.
