DEUTSCHLAND AUSSTELLUNG 'KOERPERWELTEN' 1997
A visitor looks Tuesday, December 2, 1997, specimens in the exhibition ''Human Body World'' at the ''Landesmuseum fuer Technik und Arbeit'' (Museum for Technics and Work) in Mannheim, Germany. Some 200 real human specimens including whole bodies, single organs and transparent body slices give an unique insight into the world of the healthy as well as the deseased body. The specimens have been preserved through a technique called plastination: this is a vacuum process in which body water is replaced by curable polymer like silicon rubber or epoxy resin. The show is to be seen until Feb. 1, 1998. (AP Photo/Heribert Proepper)
