MAX HORKHEIMER
German philospher and sociologist Max Horkheimer (M) has a look at the document of honorary citizenship, which was awarded to him on the 14th of February in 1960. To his right nuclear physicist and nobel prize laureate Otto Hahn (r) and Hessian minister of cultural affairs Ernst Schütte (l). Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno were the fathers of the critical theory of Frankfurt school. He was born in Stuttgart on the 14th of February in 1895 and died in Nuremberg on the 7th of July in 1973. (KEYSTONE/DPA/Koll)
