Members of the News Media sleep at the Space Shuttle Landing Facility prior to the Space Shuttle Discovery, mission STS-114 being waved off after the second opportunity to land at Kennedy Space Center Tuesday, 09 August 2005. The Discovery will land at Edwards Air Force Base in California. STS-114, dubbed the most photographed space flight, set a new precedent for future test flights. A mission of firsts, STS-114 carried the Orbiter's Boom Sensor System on its maiden flight, performed the first back-flip in space flight and successfully completed a first-of-its-kind repair to the Shuttle. Discovery was the first Space Shuttle to visit the Station since late 2002 and still have U.S. space officials continuing to indefinitely ground the space shuttle fleet. This action was taken on Wednesday 27 July 2005 saying falling debris during the launch of Discovery showed that necessary safety improvements have not been made to the program.
