EXAMINING CLOTHING IN FORENSIC LABORATORY
Forensic science. A sample of blood-stained cloth being taken from a pair of jeans. The blood will be removed, then analysed using DNA fingerprinting techniques. This will enable the scientist to determine whether the blood belonged to the victim or the assailant. Hanging up in the foreground are various autoradiographs (autorads) from other DNA fingerprinting studies. Photographed at the UK Government's Home Office Forensic Science Service laboratories at Aldermaston near Oxford, England.
