USA WILLIAM FAULKNER
Novelist William Faulkner works at his Underwood typewriter in his study in his home near Oxford, Miss., November 1950. A previously unpublished letter by Faulkner about the role of black nurses in Southern race relations has been included in the most recent edition of The Georgia Review. Faulkner wrote the six-page typed letter to Methodist bishop Robert Jones of Columbus, Ohio, in 1940, only six weeks after Faulkner's own childhood nurse died. (KEYSTONE/AP Photo/Str) === , ===
