ISTANBUL, Turkey, 16 June 2019 | People watch a live broadcast of a televised debate between Istanbul's mayoral candidate Binali Yildirim (R) of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), and Istanbul's deposed mayor Ekrem Imamoglu (L) of the Republican Peoples Party (CHP) head of June 23 re-run of Istanbul elections, || Imamoglu won a tight 13, 000-vote lead over his rival former prime minister Binali Yildirim of the ruling party AKP party in March, but the top election body ruled seven against four in favour of a re-run vote for June 23. Televised election debates are uncommon in Turkey.
