Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic casts his vote in a nationwide referendum in Belgrade 23 April 1998 to decide whether or not the inter-ethnic conflict in the southern province of Kosovo should be mediated with international assistance. The UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague Saturday 11 March 2006 confirmed the death of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic. The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia said 64-year-old Milosevic, in the fifth year of his trial on charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, had died in his cell.
