ERSTER WELTKRIEG FRANKREICH SCHLACHT AN DER SOMME 1916
The fighting has moved on and the British troops dug into trenches around the ruined town of St. Pierre Divion. After a five month campaign the Allies had gained seven miles of territory at a cost of over a million dead. (KEYSTONE/CAMERA PRESS/STR) === ; ===
