KENT STATE ANNIVERSARY
One of many students at Kent State University takes his turn standing silent vigil at the spot where one of four students was killed last year during campus demonstrations, May 4, 1971. This photograph was taken through a bullet hole in a campus sculpture. The bullet hole was one of many shots taken by the National Guard, who wounded nine students and killed four last May 4. Memorial services were held at the same time the vigil was held where Jeff Miller died. (AP Photo/Gene Herrick)
