PORTUGAL MARSHALLPLAN
At Porto, Portugal, a textil plant with new and modern equipment was built with US Economic Aid, enabling the mill to produce almost twice as much fabric as a nearby tire plant can use, undated picture. The excess fabric was destined for export to South Africa, Venezuela, Chile and Mexico. Here, an operator checks the spinning machine wich manufactures a rayon cord fabric for use in automobile tires. (KEYSTONE/PHOTOPRESS-ARCHIV/RIA/Str)
