Flowers and candles are placed on a memorial to the Muenchener Strasse Synagogue in Berlin on November 9, 2020, on the anniversary of the Kristallnacht Nazi pogrom. - The building survived the 1938 pogrom before being torn down after WWII, the site and it's memorial is being used to remember the atrocities carried out November 9–10, 1938 as Nazi leaders unleashed a series of pogroms against the Jewish population in Germany and recently incorporated territories. The event is known as Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass) because of the shattered glass that littered the streets after the vandalism and destruction of Jewish-owned businesses, synagogues, and homes.
