dpatop - 18 April 2024, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Sassnitz-Mukran: Accompanied by tugs, the LNG tanker "Arctic Lady" transports a cargo of LNG to the "Deutsche Ostsee" energy terminal. Liquefied natural gas can be landed on the island of Rügen via the "Energos Power" and, after being converted into gas, fed into the German distribution network via a natural gas connection pipeline from the "Deutsche Ostsee" energy terminal to Lubmin. According to the company "Deutsche ReGas", the "Deutsche Ostsee" energy terminal is of great importance for the energy supply of eastern and southern Germany as well as neighboring countries. Regular operations are scheduled to begin on May 15 at the latest and reach full capacity by the summer. Photo: Stefan Sauer/dpa (KEYSTONE/DPA/Stefan Sauer)
