MEXIKO TLATELOLCO MASSAKER 1968
Soldiers forcibly cut a student's hair after he was arrested during demonstrations near Mexico City's Tlatelolco Plaza Oct. 3, 1968, after a night of violence between the army and student protesters. It is estimated 300 people were killed during the clash. Former President Luis Echeverria was interior secretary when Mexican troops ambushed the student protesters at Mexico City's Tlatelolco Plaza in 1968. He was grilled by a special prosecutor Tuesday, July 2, 2002, considering possible charges of genocide against him, according to witnesses. (KEYSTONE/AP Photo/Str)
