JAPAN FISCH MARKT
epa01200525 An intermediate fish wholesaler filets live eels at a merchants stall in Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo, Japan, in a photo released 13 December, 2007. Tsukiji fish market, the last remnant of old mercantile Tokyo culture, faces demise. Now that many supermarket chains buy fish directly from wholesalers the quantity of fish handled at Tsukiji is declining. The Tokyo government has used this decline as justification for selling the Tsukiji land, located next to Ginza, Japan's most-expensive real estate. Plans are to move the market across the Sumida River to a new location by 2012. EPA/EVERETT KENNEDY BROWN
