GORILLA SKULL
Skull of an adult female gorilla (Gorilla gorilla), the largest genus of primates now living, native to the tropical and subtropical forests of Central Africa. After chimpanzees they are the next closest relative of humans, their DNA being over 95% similar to that of Home sapiens. The gorilla's skull typically features pronounced brows. The cranial volume is appreciably smaller than that of humans. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/GRANT MUSEUM, UCL/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY)
