BRITAIN WEATHER PUPPIES
A picture released 08 August 2003 of three collie cross-bred puppies named (L-R) Nikki, Gareth and Sally, which were discovered in a litter of five dumped in a cardboard box on one of the hottest days of the year, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said 08 August. Two of the abandoned cross-bred puppies, all about four weeks old, have since died after they were discovered by a woman walking her dog in a field in Leigh, Greater Manchester, on Tuesday. The remaining three are now recovering at Tyldesley Vets, Tyldesley, Greater Manchester. They have been named Gareth, Nikki and Sally after the vet and nurses who have been caring for them.
