This photograph taken on March 31, 2024, shows candles and toys in memory of the victims at a playground at the site of the Russian strike that hit a cafe last year, in the village of Groza, Kharkiv region, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Groza was captured by Russia in the first days after it invaded before Kyiv's forces retook control in September 2022. On 5 October 2023, the village had a gathering in a cafe on the main street for the re-burial of a local soldier who had died earlier in the war when a Russian missile tore through the building, killing 59 people. Six months after the strike, the air around Groza was heavy with grief, distrust and suspicion towards residents deemed pro-Russian. The fate of the divided community shows the challenges facing places that have been liberated after months of Russian occupation. (Photo by Roman PILIPEY / AFP) (KEYSTONE/AFP/ROMAN PILIPEY)
