Farrier Vocational Training
Training as a farrier lasts four years. Farriers are specialists in hoof care and the shoeing of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. They advise horse owners on animal husbandry issues. Farriers care for the well-being of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Every six to eight weeks, these animals are reshod because their hooves are growing back, the shoes are wearing out, or orthopedic correction is needed. Unshod animals also require regular hoof work and correction. (berufsberatung.ch/oro)
